DA Daniella Shorter Office Seal

January 8, 2026

District Attorney Daniella Shorter Levy announced the conviction of Aazariyon Patton for the crime of commercial burglary. Patton was sentenced by Judge Tomika H. Irving to serve five (5) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with five (5) years suspended and upon his release two (2) years of supervised probation. Also, he was ordered to pay court costs of $427.50, restitution to the victim, Brian Day, in the amount of $3,000.00, and a $150.00 investigative fee to the District Attorney’s Office.

On June 2, 2024, Patton was arrested by the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office for breaking into a deer camp located in Claiborne County that belonged to Brian Day. After he was arrested, it was learned from the investigation of this matter that he had broken into the deer camp with a group of guys and they had stolen one ATV, two golf carts, one tractor, and thirty firearms from the property. The investigation of this matter led to the return of some of the items to the victim, but a large number of the firearms were never recovered. Therefore, the investigation of this matter clearly indicated that Patton committed the crime of commercial burglary, and as a result of these findings, he pled guilty to the crime of commercial burglary.
