District Attorney Daniella Shorter Levy announces the conviction of CEDRIC LYNCH.


On January 20, 2026, Cedric Lynch appeared before the Honorable Judge Tomika H. Irving in Hazlehurst, MS and pled guilty to Aggravated Assault-Domestic Violence. Judge Irving sentenced Defendant Lynch to Twenty (20) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with Fifteen (15) of those years being suspended, and Five (5) Years to serve. Upon release Defendant Lynch will be under Supervised Probation for Five (5) years. Defendant Lynch is to make no contact with the victim, Angela Williams upon release. Lynch is ordered to pay One Hundred Dollars investigative cost to the District Attorney’s Office, One Hundred Dollars ($100) to the Crime Victims Compensation Fund, and Four Hundred Twenty-Seven Dollar and Fifty Cents ($427.50) in Court Cost.


On August 24, 2024, Lynch attacked his ex-wife Angela Williams outside of her home, with a knife, stabbing her several times.


Domestic violence is a crime that touches every community all over the world. The District Attorney’s Office will continue to make it our mission to protect those persons ready and willing to speak out against domestic violence. Love should not hurt.
