February 26, 2026
District Attorney Daniella Shorter-Levy announced the conviction of Clifton Quick for the crime of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
Quick was sentenced by Judge Tomika H. Irving to serve five (5) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections with five (5) years suspended and upon his release one (1) year of supervised probation. Also, he was ordered to pay court costs of $427.50 and a $150.00 investigative fee to the District Attorney’s Office.
Should this case have gone to trial, the prosecution would have shown that on February 14, 2025, Quick was stopped by the Copiah County Sheriff’s Office because the vehicle he was in was connected to another crime. During that stop, Quick was found to be in possession of a firearm while he was being legally searched. Once Quick was arrested, it was learned that he was a convicted felon, and he subsequently was charged with being a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Based on the above-mentioned facts, Quick pled guilty to the aforementioned crime.
