District Attorney Daniella Shorter Levy announced the conviction of Devonte Marshall for the crime of Felony Fleeing.
On February 17, 2026, Marshall appeared in Copiah County Circuit
Court and pled guilty to the crime of Felony Fleeing. Marshall was sentenced by Judge Tomika H. Irving to serve seven (7) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with four (4) years suspended, (3) three years to serve, and upon his release three (3) years of supervised probation. Also, he was ordered to pay court costs of $427.50, a $150.00 investigative fee to the District Attorney’s Office, and $100 to the Mississippi Crime Victim’s Compensation Fund.
On July 3, 2025, Marshall was stopped by Deputies from the Copiah County Sheriff’s Office when he was driving reckless on I-55 in Copiah County. When the stop occurred, a Deputy approached the vehicle and during the stop, Marshall drove off from the stop and fled from the officers. The vehicle was later found and information of the vehicle suggested that Devonte Marshall was the driver of the vehicle. When Devonte Marshall was later apprehended, he was arrested and charged with felony fleeing. Therefore, Marshall pled guilty to the charge of felony fleeing, and he was sentenced accordingly.
