June 25, 2025

District Attorney Daniella Shorter-Levy announced the conviction of Jason Lecompte for the crime of Possession of Methamphetamine. Lecompte was sentenced by Judge Tomika H. Irving to serve ten (10) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections with nine (9) years suspended, one (1) year to serve, and upon his release two (2) years of supervised probation. Also, he was ordered to pay court costs of $454.50 and a $150.00 investigative fee to the District Attorney’s Office.

On May 9, 2024, Lecompte was charged in Copiah County for Possession of Methamphetamine when he was stopped by the Wesson Police Department. He initially was stopped because his vehicle did not have working taillights, but during the stop, Lecompte’s vehicle was legally searched because the officer smelled the odor of burned marijuana coming from his vehicle during the stop. During the search of the vehicle, Lecompte was found to be in possession of 15 grams of Methamphetamine. Therefore, Lecompte pleaded guilty to the aforementioned crime.
