District Attorney Daniella Shorter Levy announces the conviction of KARANDEEP SINGH.
On February 17, 2026, Karandeep Singh appeared before the Honorable Judge Tomika H. Irving in Hazlehurst, MS, and pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance: 50 d.u. of
Oxycodone pills.
Judge Irving sentenced Defendant Singh to Five (5) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with Five (5) years suspended. Upon release, Defendant Singh will serve Five (5) years of supervised probation. Singh is ordered to pay One Hundred Dollars ($100) investigative cost to the District Attorney’s Office, Four Hundred Twenty-Seven Dollars and Fifty Cents ($427.50) in Court Cost, and a fine in the amount of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000).
On August 2, 2024, during a routine safety roadblock, Officers noticed the smell of
marijuana coming from Defendant Singh’s truck. Upon further inspection, officers recovered a plastic bag containing 50 white pills, which were later confirmed to be oxycodone.
