District Attorney Daniella Shorter Levy announces the conviction of MATTHEW CORONA for Malicious Mischief.


On February 13, 2026, Defendant Matthew Corona appeared before the honorable Judge Tomika H. Irving in Copiah County Circuit Court and plead guilty to the aforementioned charge. Judge Irving withheld acceptance of the plea of guilty to said charge. Corona has been placed in the District Attorney’s Pretrial Intervention Program (PTI) for a period of three (3) years.


If he fails to complete the Pretrial Intervention Program, Corona faces up to Ten (10) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Defendant Corona must pay a total of $9,387.20 in fines, fees and restitution at a rate of $253.92 per month beginning April 1, 2026.


On October 20, 2023, police were called to the home of Defendant Corona in Wesson, MS. Upon arrival witnesses stated that Corona struck the commercial vehicle of B&B Utility with a pipe. The utility vehicle was in the possession of a B&B Utility employee. The employee was a personal friend of Defendant Corona’s wife. District Attorney Shorter Levy strives to protect the citizens and businesses of the 23rd District, including their person and property.
